Mrs. Filomeno has spent over 30 years in the field of math, science and engineering either studying, working, teaching or inspiring. She holds degrees in Chemistry/Math and Materials Science Engineering. Recently her interests have included: finding ways to attract more women in engineering following a STEM Fellowship up at UCONN, teaching computational thinking as related to problem solving, volunteering at a robotics club at King Philip Middle School, helping to design and implement an introductory electrical engineering club at Smith School, and learning about coding after attending an international SCRATCH symposium at MIT.

Both she and her husband have a strong commitment to Catholic Education not only as past STMS School Board members and Tiger Ball committee chairs but also present members of the Northwest Catholic finance committee. They are the proud parents of three graduates of STMS: Mark(2000), Joseph(2002), Madelyn(2005). Besides raising three children and involving herself in ANYTHING with math or science, her passions include founding member of ACTS (a 501c for adults with disabilities), member of Origami USA, on-going Biblical Study scholar, and working on her family farm.
